Schönhauser Allee 55 Prenzlauer Berg
Knightsbridge Properties acquired Schönhauser Allee 55 in 2007. This 19th century historical building consists of a four-story building and a five-story adjacent factory building, built in 1858 and 1899, respectively. The property has been designated a landmark by the Historical Building Authority of Berlin.
Working with an innovative architectural firm, Michels Architektur Buro from Cologne, the project achieved the successful architectural integration of a fresh, modern component, adding a new penthouse floor to the original edifice. The building is now a modern, mixed-use complex, comprising luxury rental lofts and work ateliers. The extensive restoration and redevelopment project, which began in 2008, was completed in 2010. The property has achieved some of the highest residential rents in East Berlin.
